Empty Shop 3

This photo came back from the developing lab a few weeks ago. I had 3 or 4 images similar to this and can’t work out what has caused the effect.

I took the photo using TLR Haking’s Halina 120 film camera and it was only one roll of film in the batch that I sent to be developed that was affected like this.

This week I’m posting  a poll hoping that somebody might have  some answers about what’s caused the problem. Thanks!

As part of the 17 Claypath Gallery documentary photography project I undertook for Empty Shop late last year I decided to take some 35mm photographs on my old Canon AE 1 film camera as well as in digital format.

Here’s a test shot I did at Empty Shop HQ using the AE 1 camera. The negative processing was done by Ag Photo Lab.

A  large part of me still prefers to use film and I still find the 2 media worlds apart though I wouldn’t be without my digital cameras now.

I was in the studio earlier this week and managed to get some shots of  the studios… looking over them realised a sort of Jubilee theme had somehow crept in.

This evening is Empty Shop’s 4th Annual Opening

The show this year is cracking and includes a site specific installation by  Neil Armstrong.

I am showing some of the zines I have made over the last year or so and a work in progress, The Normal Child that I have been working on for the past couple of months.

The Normal Child (work in progress) 2012

This photograph was taken towards the end of 2011 from the studio window.

In December I moved into a new studio space at Empty Shop HQ Durham.

It’s a slightly larger more self-contained work space over looking the Fighting Cocks Pub in one direction and Durham cathedral in the other.

Photos from Empty Shop today …
